[6:33]  1 tn Heb “and do all which the foreigner calls to [i.e., “requests of”] you.”

[6:33]  2 tn Heb “name.” See the note on “reputation” in v. 32.

[6:33]  3 tn Heb “fear.”

[6:33]  4 tn Heb “that your name is called over this house which I built.” The Hebrew idiom “call the name over” indicates ownership. See 2 Sam 12:28.

[34:9]  5 tn Heb “from Manasseh and Ephraim.” The words “the people of” are supplied in the translation for clarity. The Hebrew text uses the names “Manasseh and Ephraim” here by metonymy for the people of Manasseh and Ephraim.

[34:9]  6 tn Heb “all Judah and Benjamin.” The words “the people of” are supplied in the translation for clarity. The Hebrew text uses the names “Judah and Benjamin” here by metonymy for the people of Judah and Benjamin.

[34:9]  7 tc The Hebrew consonantal text (Kethib) assumes the reading, “and the residents of.” The marginal reading (Qere) is “and they returned.”
